Cupcakes Adobe Illustrator CS6 Tutorials

Today, we will learn how to make simple Cupcakes in illustrator.

Step 1: 
Open illustrator, Set up the document, go to File - New – Click OK.

Step 2: 
For background, draw a rectangle, fill solid color in it and lock it.

Step 3: 
Now draw the shapes of spirals using the Spiral Tool of different sizes at random position like below, Group them all and Lock them. Background is ready.

Step 4: 
Now, to make cupcakes, draw shape like below with the help of Pen tool and fill with solid color.

Step 5: 
Draw rectangle and copy it by holding ALT key and copy multiple times by pressing Ctrl+D. Group them by selecting them all and right click, (option bar appears) click on Group option.

Step 6: 
Copy the shape we made in the above step and put it exactly above that and select them all, go to Object- Clipping mask- Make

Step 7: 
Now, with the help of pen tool make shapes as below and fill colors.

Step 8: 
Make additional details on cupcake and decrease Opacity to 30%. Also make chocolate chips, copy it to different places.

Step 9: 
For making cherry, make ellipse and fill color. To make it shine, draw a shape like below with the help of pen tool, fill with white color and decrease Opacity from 100% to 80%.
Also, add details in cherry.

Step 10: 
To make a spoon, draw rounded rectangle (1) and fill solid color, make another rounded rectangle with stroke only to highlight it.
Repeat above step to make a rounded rectangle (2).

Step 11: 
With the help of Eraser Tool, erase the small part of the spoon and place it over the cupcake.

Step 12: 
Group all parts of the cupcake, to add outer glow, go to Effects- Stylize- Outer glow

The yummy cupcake is ready.
